Resource management

FluidVM lets administrators control how users use resources in the virtualized infrastructure. Resources such as CPU, RAM, disk space, IP addresses, network bandwidth, etc can be alloted to users in a controlled fashion with FluidVM's resource management module. To manage resources as a group, there is the concept of a "Resource Plan". There can be multiple resource plans defined in the system and users can be assigned to them. A single user can only be assigned to a single resource plan, whereas a single resource plan can be associated with many users. Changing a resource plan affects all users associated with it. Lets us say you create a resource plan which limits RAM used by a user to 1024M. And later on you edit this plan to change the RAM limit alone to 2048M. All users associated with this plan will have their quota of RAM increased to 2048M. On the other hand, you can have a user not associated with any plan at all. You will still have to set resource limits for this user, but these limits are private to this user and changing them does not affect other users. There are many resource usage values that can be set to "Unlimited", thus there is no limit defined for that particular item.
